Week 1 NTI Work

For All Classes

During our first week out, from Mar. 16-20, we will continue with the usual NTI assignments. You are to do the following:

  • Read your Independent Reading Book for approx. 15-20 minutes each day
  • Log what pages you read each day
    • Example: March 16: Pp. 123-156
  • On Friday, write a one-page response to a prompt that I will provide on Thursday night
    • You will share this to me: Matthew.Drury@scott.kyschools.us
Additionally, be sure to check Remind, your school email, and my teacher website at least once a day. These are my official means of contacting you and you are responsible for keeping up with any communications via these means. 

What if I do not have an Independent Reading Book?

You may use any book at home, any digital version of a book, or even an audio book. Due to the spread of COVID-19, I would not recommend going to a crowded store or library to obtain a book. Below is a website that has free books and contains both text and audio for each book. Feel free to select any book listed on this website (Seniors: you may choose our class book The Things They Carried).

NTI Days 19-23: Apr. 13-17

NTI Days 19-23: Apr. 13-17 NTI 19-20: April 13-14 For Monday and Tuesday this week, please complete the survey below. At the end of each school year, I ask all students to complete a brief survey over my course. You do NOT have to provide your name. Please respond honestly and with as much detail as possible. Fall Break Travel Information

 Fall Break Travel Information Below is a release from the district regarding travel, especially out-of-state travel, during fall break: Scott County Schools will be on fall break on October 5-9, 2020.  There will be no virtual classes during this time.  We anticipate that some students and staff members will travel during fall break and wanted to address questions related to expectations for travel and self-quarantine recommended by government officials. In July, the Kentucky Department for Public Health issued a travel advisory with the recommendation of a 14-day self-quarantine for travelers who go to any state reporting a positive testing rate equal to or greater than 15% of COVID-19 testing.  An up-to-date listing of these states is posted at  www.kycovid19.com .  This list changes frequently but, at the time of this printing (9/28/20), the following states were included in the travel advisory: Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.  The Department of Public Health also
