I am super excited for school to start this Wednesday! Open house had an incredible turn out allowing me to meet over 60 families! These first few days of school will be spent discussing our course syllabus, emergency procedures, and playing a fun game to get to to know a little bit about each other! We will also be on a modified schedule for the first three days to ensure everyone has the appropriate schedule as well as to discuss school-wide policies. Below is the schedule for the first three days of school:

8:45-9:15a - CARD Time (Report to Advisory)
9:20-9:40a - 1st Period
9:45-10:40a - 2nd Period
10:45-11:40a - 3rd Period
11:45a-12:20p - CARD Time (Report to Advisory)
12:20-1:45p - 4th Period (And Lunch)
1:50-2:45p - 5th Period
2:50-3:45p - 6th Period

Honors English II
Make sure to have read The Road by Cormac McCarthy for our summer reading! We will start analyzing parts throughout the book next week and will have a test over the book in just a couple weeks! Also, be sure to join my Remind 101 for important announcements and information throughout the year!

English IV
There is no summer reading book for this course; however, we will dive into deeper analysis strategies by deconstructing poetry in order to weave together interpretations and meaning for our first unit. These methodologies will carry over throughout the course. During the year, we will also conduct various activities, discussions, and projects to assist in transitioning out of high school such as writing admissions essays, crafting a resume, and researching prospective careers. Also, be sure to join my Remind 101 for important announcements and information throughout the year!

NTI Days 19-23: Apr. 13-17 NTI 19-20: April 13-14 For Monday and Tuesday this week, please complete the survey below. Fall Break Travel Information

 Fall Break Travel Information Below is a release from the district regarding travel, especially out-of-state travel, during fall break: Scott County Schools will be on fall break on October 5-9, 2020.  There will be no virtual classes during this time.  We anticipate that some students and staff members will travel during fall break and wanted to address questions related to expectations for travel and self-quarantine recommended by government officials. In July, the Kentucky Department for Public Health issued a travel advisory with the recommendation of a 14-day self-quarantine for travelers who go to any state reporting a positive testing rate equal to or greater than 15% of COVID-19 testing.  An up-to-date listing of these states is posted at  www.kycovid19.com .  This list changes frequently but, at the time of this printing (9/28/20), the following states were included in the travel advisory: Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.  The Department of Public Health also
