Week of Aug. 26 Newsletter Honors English 2 This week we will start discussing various aspects of our summer reading book The Road as well as the dystopian genre in general. We will also start to examine the importance of words by analyzing tone, mood, diction, denotation, and connotation. Later in the unit, we will apply these skills and more for textual and visual analysis. This will be crucial for our first reading: the graphic novel Persepolis . Also, be sure to turn in the signed page from your syllabus as well as bring your classroom materials!  English 4 This week we will start our poetry unit! We start with poetry in order to learn and start practicing deconstructionist methodologies utilized in interpreting various meanings in literature, as well as practically any other form of art. Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year!

Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year! I am super excited for school to start this Wednesday! Open house had an incredible turn out allowing me to meet over 60 families! These first few days of school will be spent discussing our course syllabus, emergency procedures, and playing a fun game to get to to know a little bit about each other! We will also be on a modified schedule for the first three days to ensure everyone has the appropriate schedule as well as to discuss school-wide policies.
