End of Year Information

End of Year Information

We are fast approaching the end of the school year! There is some very important information and dates to keep in mind moving forward. Please read everything related to your course below!

English 4

Deadline for Grades:
The final day to turn in any assignment is Friday, May 7! If you are not passing the course by this date, you will not graduate! Students are currently completing Enrichment/Acceleration assignments. These assignments are crucial for their 4th term grade and can both help or hurt their overall grade (it is weighted at 80% of the 4th term grade). Parents, please look at your child's grades and ensure they are not falling behind. I will try to contact parents of failing students by phone, but I may not be able to reach you and our deadline is fast approaching! Also keep in mind: any assignment from any point in the school year may be turned in without late penalty! Additionally, major essays/projects may be revised and resubmitted for a higher grade!

Graduation and Senior Activities:
May 20th is the last day of school and May 22nd is scheduled for graduation. I will communicate more information about senior activities and graduation as it becomes available.

AP Lang/Comp

Deadline for Grades:
The final day to submit any work is Friday, May 14. This is for both virtual and in-person students. I have numerous virtual students that are failing the course. Parents, please check your child's grades and ensure they are not falling behind. Also keep in mind: any assignment from any point in the school year may be turned in without late penalty. Additionally, major essays/projects may be revised and resubmitted for a higher grade!

KPREP Testing:
KPREP testing begins next week. Juniors will take the KPREP for science and on-demand writing. The science portion will be on Tuesday while the on-demand writing will be on Thursday. The writing will be an argumentative essay, so I expect everyone to be able to do awesome! If you have an AP exam from another course during the window for KPREP, there will be make up days for KPREP testing! Ultimately, prioritize your AP exams!

AP Lang Exam:
The AP Exam for our course will be on Wednesday, May12 at 8:00am in the upper auditorium. You will need to arrive at the testing site 15 minutes early. No special transportation will be provided. You may bring #2 pencils, no mechanical pencils. Be sure to rest well and eat a good breakfast. The test will be approx. 3 hours and 15 minutes (1 hour for multiple choice, 15 minutes to read sources, and 2 hours for the essay sections). I wish you all good luck! I know you guys will rock!
