Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year

Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year

High School Program Information 2020-2021 - Scott County Schools
Welcome back! I am super excited to kick off another great school year! This will definitely be a year of flexibility and change. We are currently set to start the year online and return to in-person classes on October 12, right after fall break. However, these transitions are always subject to change depending on the number of COVID-19 cases and, even while in-person, school will be a bit different this year. Ultimately, we will persevere and learn how to adapt side-by-side. This year will be a very interesting experiment in educational modality. If we remain positive and strive to do our best, we will all learn and grow (Including me! I am still figuring a lot of stuff out with the numerous online platforms and apps available!). Let's rock it and have a great year!

Important Notes for All Classes

Students in both AP Lang/Comp and Eng 4 need to do the following:
  • Join my Remind for your respective class
    • AP Lang/Comp Code: @g3k643
    • Eng 4 Code: @ff6bfkc
  • Check your school email for the Google Classroom Code
    • You will be receiving an email via Infinite Campus with the join code for my Google Classroom. This will be sent to your school email address. Make sure you are logging in with Outlook and not through GMail (Google Classroom and official emails will not go through if you are logging in via GMail).
  • Regularly check Google Classroom for your class syllabus. This will be added within the next few days
  • Make sure you have all needed supplies
    • For virtual, I would prefer you have access to a PC rather than work on a phone, IPad, or tablet to ensure compatibility with Google Classroom Apps
    • When we return to in-person, I will further discuss materials
    • For AP Lang/Comp students, I highly recommend having your own laptop for both virtual and in-person class. This is a college-level course that will require lots of research and writing. Many of our course readings will be digital as well.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to email me or message me on Remind!
