Week 1 NTI Work

For All Classes

During our first week out, from Mar. 16-20, we will continue with the usual NTI assignments. You are to do the following:

  • Read your Independent Reading Book for approx. 15-20 minutes each day
  • Log what pages you read each day
    • Example: March 16: Pp. 123-156
  • On Friday, write a one-page response to a prompt that I will provide on Thursday night
    • You will share this to me: Matthew.Drury@scott.kyschools.us
Additionally, be sure to check Remind, your school email, and my teacher website at least once a day. These are my official means of contacting you and you are responsible for keeping up with any communications via these means. 

What if I do not have an Independent Reading Book?

You may use any book at home, any digital version of a book, or even an audio book. Due to the spread of COVID-19, I would not recommend going to a crowded store or library to obtain a book. Below is a website that has free books and contains both text and audio for each book. Feel free to select any book listed on this website (Seniors: you may choose our class book The Things They Carried).

NTI Days 19-23: Apr. 13-17

NTI Days 19-23: Apr. 13-17 NTI 19-20: April 13-14 For Monday and Tuesday this week, please complete the survey below. At the end of each school year, I ask all students to complete a brief survey over my course. You do NOT have to provide your name. Please respond honestly and with as much detail as possible. Newsletter: Week of 9-14

 Newsletter: Week of 9-14 One week down! It has been a hectic week, but I think a lot of us are starting to get the hang of the new technology and things have started to go smoother! Thank you all for your hard work and perseverance! It's stressful enough to deal with so many changes in our lives, but then to compound it with an entirely different mode of learning has definitely aggravated the situation! However, it will get easier as we move forward! I have become aware of many of the tech errors I created within these first two weeks of activities and, after some experimentation, feel confident about the Google Classroom platform as well as many of the apps that can utilized with it!
